The Empress card, in a daily context, is a card of fulfillment and unconditional love. It signifies the ability to give and receive in a balanced way. It embodies the experience of abundance without fear, with the awareness and understanding that abundance is meant for us, it is available and waiting for us to receive it. The card represents sexuality as part of human creativity. The seeker learns the principle of fertilization, the potential creativity within, but also the pains of birth. Every idea requires a period of maturation, after which there is a separation between the one who conceived the idea and the idea itself, between the mother and the newborn. The experience of pain is both physical and emotional. The Empress represents the feminine aspect, sensuality. She is part of nature, the mother, the healer, fertility, giving, and love. She is the place of self-forgiveness, self-compassion, and self-tolerance toward one’s own weaknesses and limitations.
