The Fool card symbolizes the beginning of the journey, the start. It is a symbol of innocence and represents the potential within a person. The Fool embodies a consciousness that is in a process of searching, exploring the environment, and seeking fulfillment. This is where the seeker begins their path.

Travel Sack	The sack represents those parts of the spirit that the Fool is unaware of since the sack hangs behind his back. Upturned Face	Reflects his potential for realization, aiming high, full of ideals, but also blind to obstacles.

Dog	Loyalty and instincts, representing the Fool’s survival side. The dog symbolizes man’s best friend who accompanies the Fool on his journey, but it also represents the animal instinct that guards the person. It can be a source of fear that delays progress. In the developmental process, the dog will transform into caution and awareness of dangers.
Edge of a Cliff	Realizing potential and creating change brings the person to soar above the abyss. Failure to realize potential will bring them to crash onto the harsh reality. The willingness to jump expresses boldness and an attempt to realize potential, but the experience of landing in reality can be painful.

Mythology

The card is symbolized by Uranus, the god of the sky, belonging to the pre-Olympian gods. It symbolizes the primordial night before the light was created, the source of the birth of consciousness, the awareness of reality, and physical creation. Uranus represents the creative thought. The struggle between Uranus and his son Cronus, the god of time, who rebelled against him and seized power, symbolizes the beginning of time and the continuum in which a person is born, the starting point moving towards annihilation and the end.
